Since we got the new espresso machine, boy oh boy, have we ever been having fun. Today we made Caffe Macchiato. What is a Caffe Macchiato you ask? Well, we will tell you what the Italian version is, not the Starbucks version. (Now, I am really disappointed that I mentioned Starbucks in a post about good coffee.) A Macchiato is an espresso drink. It is made by using a single shot of espresso and “marking” it with frothed milk. Yep, you guessed it. Macchiato means “marked” in Italian.
Would you like to make some great coffee drinks at home? If so, may we recommend the Breville BES870XL Barista Express Espresso Machine. This machine is the answer to all of your coffee dreams. It took less than two minutes to make two of these Macchiato’s. When you figure how expensive coffee is at a coffee shop, these machines will pay for themselves in no time at all. A Macchiato is going to run you a minimum of $3 per drink. You can make one of these at home for around $.30. These savings add up really quick and will cut your coffee budget dramatically. Perhaps, you could use your savings for a trip to Italy!
