Stainless steel cookware is something for serious chefs. One thing is for certain with this stuff. If you don’t want to spend top dollar on these, then save your money and don’t buy them at all. Here’s why. The lower cost competitors use very low quality steel or sometimes not pure stainless. This leads to scratching, sticking, and uneven heating. The three primary reasons to purchase in the first place!!!! A good set of stainless cookware is going to run at least $300. Anything less is garbage and a waste of your hard-earned dollarinos.
So why do you want to spend so much on these??? Good question, I’m glad you asked. First, it’s an investment. High quality is going to last a long, long time. Upwards of 20+ years. Second, professional chefs use them for a reason. They heat evenly. Therefore, your food cooks much better. There is no nonstick surface on the pan. That means that you can use your high quality METAL spoons and spatulas and even knives. None of that dark surface will leach into your food. Do you know what’s in those nonstick surfaces (I don’t, but I’m sure it probably causes cancer, and I don’t want it in my body)? No longer will you have to use those flimsy plastic cooking tools to flip, stir, and cut. You can even cut things right in the pan if you need to. In summary, your food should cook better, taste better, and be easier to prepare. Sounds like three pretty good reasons to make an investment to me in some high quality stainless cookware.
Still not convinced, then head over to Amazon.com and read some reviews. The Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 13-Piece Cookware Set is very reasonable priced at $425. A very good buy and excellent quality to boot. These would make a fantastic gift for that special person in your life who loves to cook. I know I would have been tickled to death to receive these as a gift (had to buy them for myself).
